58,000 teachers will be employed during the first year of the new President in a major pace to ease shortage in Kenyan schools.
The Kenya Kwanza Education Pact says a similar number of teachers will be employed every year to plug the broadening teachers gap in public schools.
He promised to bridge the shortage in public schools within two financial years.
He said that 25 billion shillings will be set aside yearly for capitation of tutors training and recruitment mainly in the demoted areas so that all students have access to education.
The contract also proposed multitudes of goodies including the establishment of a national schooling fund to mobilise grants, bursaries and scholarships from public and private sponsors to cater for non-tuition cost.
Presently, parents meet the cost boarding fees, transport, meals and uniform under the Free Primary Education and the Free Day Secondary Education.
The CBC will also face new reviews under Ruto’s government.
He also said that his government will not scuffle Competence Based Curriclum but rather support it by encouraging further engagements with stakeholders, parents and teachers .
Ruto said this will make the education organisation relevant, affordable and accessible to all to the kind of human wealth needed for the economy to grow.
Kenya Kwanza recommends to introduce alternate class transition principles from the present knowledge-based academic progression system.
Ruto also said that they commit to continue our vigorous engagement with the public to enable the assessment of the recent curriculum and education edifice towards finding a justifiable solution that will apprehende the essence of a knowledge-based system.
He also promised to assess it to accommodate concerns from stakeholders, parents as well as teachers in the Education sector.
