Teachers are in painas a number of teachers hired by TSC in September this year are yet to collect their posting letters.
The teachers are unsatisfied as they watch their coworker’s been posted to their new schools to start working under pensionable and permanent terms.
Teachers Service Commission recruited a total of 14,460 tutors last month in a bid to address scarcity of teachers in secondary schools and public primary schools and also replace retired teachers.
However, facts show that a good number of tutors have not yet received their posting letters in spite of Dr Nancy Macharia, CEO TSC, saying the letters have been released.
In her speech at the Kenya school of government in Nairobi on Wednesday 5th October, she said that Teachers Service Commission has posted all teachers recruited last month.
According to the roadmap that showed the recruitment workout, all successful recruits were supposed to be forwarded to schools early September.
During filling of hiring forms, it was revealed that some tutors will be posted by the end of the year.
Some tutor’s employment forms showed they will be posted in September, others in October, November and the last group in December this year.
Teachers in pain
It usually takes Teachers Service Commission only 3 months to post a tutor to a school after they have filled the hiring form.
So far sources show that the employees are still getting their posting letters despite the delays. A good number received theirs last week.
Some teachers had resigned from service in private schools hoping that TSC will post them former but this had just put them in obstinate position as TSC delays in releasing more letters.
For Primary school tutors their posting letters are found at the County Directors Office while for the Secondary school tutors their posting letters are found from their school principals.
