The global education community is projected to meet in New York to contribute in the transforming education meeting by the UN Secretary-General.
The summit has been prepared alongside the 77th UN General Assembly and seeks to assemble solutions, political ambition, solidarity and action to transform education, to take standard of efforts to recuperate pandemic-related learning fatalities reimagine education schemes for the world of tomorrow and today to invigorate national and global hard work to achieve Justifiable Development Goal.
Kenya has made important progress in growing access to education at all heights. This has mainly been attained through provision of capitation contributions as well as battered programmes that address barricades to education, especially for helpless learners.
Additionally, efforts have been made to adapt and improve infrastructure and learning atmosphere to fully provide for the well-being of all students as well as those with special educational needs.
Enhancing health and safety of learners, adopting advanced approaches to education, and addressing gender subjects in education with a focus to both girls and boys has also donated greatly towards achieving equitable education and inclusive.
The call to convert education is opportune not only for the regaining from pandemic distractions but to also ensure students acquire the necessary skills, attitudes and knowledge from the education system.
Though It’s true that the pandemic broadened the exposed digital divide, inequality gap, many rising countries were fronting learning disaster even before the pandemic.
In spite of closing to nine months of schools, the pandemic confirmed Kenya’s pliability in education, building on our past speculation and foundational work to revive and run safe schools amongst Covid-19.
Kenya’s effort in effectively opening schools during the pandemic was recognised globally. This effort is credited to the intensive work by all education staffs from the headquarters to the bottommost education administrative unit- the school.
