Ezekiel Machogu, the secretary of the cabinet for education, has claimed that the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education was administered honestly (KCSE).
The CS stated, “From where I sit there was no cheating,” when speaking to the media on Friday at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).
The charges of widespread cheating, particularly in the Nyanza region, were denounced by Machogu as misinformation.
He claimed that the phrase “this is propaganda” had been created by individuals with bad motives for our nation.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and the Ministry of Education, according to the CS, conducted reliable exams.
Exams were given by the credible Council (KNEC).
Machogu stated, “I want to make it obvious that I went to many counties with meetings and all those concerned with the administration of tests when we were briefing the categories because I want us to have an exam where integrity has not been compromised.”
I have seen a lot of misinformation and people coming out with material that is not factual, he continued.
He continued by breaking down the number of As produced by each county since 2016 in further detail.
Machogu claims that since then, there has been a gradual rise in the number of candidates achieving the C+ admittance requirement for universities.
In 2016, 141 out of 571,161 candidates received As, or 0.002 percent, he said. The 2016 results were described as a mass failure by Machogu.
By all measures, that was a huge failure, he declared.
In 2021, there were 1,138 As out of 821,582 candidates, while 145,145 pupils received grades of C+ or higher.
But in the 2022 KCSE, that number increased to 1,146 As out of 173,345 applicants.
In response to claims that his region produced 800 As, Machogu spoke.
Because the cabinet secretary is from this area, don’t single out certain communities, Machogu advised.
According to him, Migori county comes in second in the Nyanza area with 66 As, followed by Siaya county with 72 As.
“Nyamira would be number 40 if we had to rank counties,” he stated.
Kisumu had 59 As, Kisii got 50, Homa Bay had 47, and Nyamira had 31.

Good
Okay let’s wait until they join those universities. These are the people who will be chumping from one course to another because they can’t understand
