Knut has asked the government to carefully scrutinize individuals for appointment to the CBC and avoid the lobbying of the education matter.
Hesbon Otieno,Knut Deputy Secretary-General, said the union welcomes the Competence-Based Curriculum review and they were ready to present their opinions on the new education curriculum which has involved praise and criticism in equal measure.
Mr. Otieno said that all stakeholders in the education area should be selected to the task force to plan the way forward for the CBC.
We ask the President, Dr William Ruto to exclude from the unit individuals who will bring politics to the education dialogue table.

During the appointment, Ms Ann Cheruiyot won the seat by gathering 496 votes to beat her only contestant in the race Mr Gideon Mugun who gathered 96 votes.
Cheruiyot’s success made history as the first female Kenya National Union of Teachers branch executive secretary from the Rift valley area.
Mr Otieno asked the Kenya Kwanza government to realize its election initiate to hire 106,000 teachers.
He also said that Kenya National Union of Teachers had also initiated discussions with the TSC for a 60 per salary increase for teachers.
We ask Ruto’s government to reward the teachers their weights and avert the assaults which have been the custom in previous governments.
Ms. Cheruiyot, in her speech she attributed her unique win to utter determination.
She said that she vied in 2021 contrary to Stanley Mutai for the Kericho Kenya National Union of Teachers branch executive secretary place and he conquered her but today she has emerged victorious.
The new Kericho Knut branch executive secretary avowed that she would use her place to articulate teachers’ matters and education stuffs without favour or fear.
