A court case challenging legality of CBC is set for hearing by next week on 27th September.
Nelson Havi, President for Law Society of Kenya, has already inherited the circumstance from the earlier petitioner says he is ready to prevent efforts by the education cabinet Prof George Magoha of consuming the curriculum to continue.
Havi also said that someone should tell the cabinet secretary for education that the hearing of the Competence Based Curriculum matter is next week from 27th September to 30th September.
He is also invited to come and submit in court, in provision of his position instead of remaining to mislead Kenyans on the major education scandal ever considered.
Last week Havi also acquired on teachers’ union Officials who had requested the President’s government to add them in the Competence-Based Curriculum review taskforce.
The President, William Ruto, has promised to form a unit that will gather views from the public which will update the areas to be studied in the curriculum.
Havi also said that KUPPET supports Competence-Based Curriculum in the appeal filed against its implementation. On what purpose does he demand presence in the taskforce to check into the education system and curriculum? Parents, Teachers and the whole Kenyan public must cut out this dishonesty.
In June 3 judges had declined to dismiss the case challenging CBC, whose operation had reached grade 6.
Allowing former LSK President, Nelson Havi to get the case, judges Hedwiq Ong’udi, Antony ndungu, Antony Mrima said the Competence-Based Curriculum suit rases concerns of great public interest.
They said the ensemble will determine the well-being and upcoming future of the Kenyan child.
The court detected that the petition challenges the legitimacy of the Competence-Based Curriculum education system, which the supplicant claims is onerous to parents and students.
The judges added that the suits raise thoughtful issues that trace on the core of the education system.
